Ingredients

Beef and lamb burger
  • 4 Silver Fern Farms Beef and Lamb with Mānuka Smoked Salt Burgersi

  • olive oil

    for brushing
  • 4 slices swiss cheese

    thinly sliced
  • 4 white bread rollsi

    split in half and toasted
  • 2 Tbsp harissa sauce

  • sprigs watercress

Gherkin relish
  • 4 gherkins

    sweet pickled, finely chopped
  • ¼ small onion

    finely chopped
  • 2 tsp capers

    finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli

    finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp parsley

    finely chopped
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar

  • 1 tsp olive oil

Method

For the gherkin relish

To make gherkin relish, combine all the ingredients together in a small bowl.

Season to taste, then set aside while you prepare the burgers.

For the burgers

Remove Silver Fern Farms Beef and Lamb with Mānuka Smoked Salt Burgers from the fridge and allow to bloom for 10 minutes at room temperature.

Preheat a barbecue on high.

Brush the burgers with a little olive oil then cook for 3 1/2 minutes each side, or until cooked through (cook for 4 minutes each side if cooking on the stovetop).

Top with a slice of cheese and allow the heat to melt the cheese.

To serve

To serve, spread harissa sauce over the bottom of each bun.

Add watercress, a burger, then a spoonful of gherkin relish.

Add the burger top.
