Quick and easy to prepare, these Tandoori beef burgers are bursting with the flavours of South Asia - and just a little bit of heat!

Beef

600g Quality Mark beef mince

1 onion

finely sliced

3 Tbsp tandoori paste

½ cup fresh breadcrumbs

3 Tbsp yoghurt

a small handful of fresh coriander

chopped

Chilli Salsa

1/2 red onion

finely chopped

1 red chilli

deseeded and finely chopped

a small handful of fresh coriander

chopped

To serve

naan bread

warmed

lettuce

mango

sliced (or sliced cucumber)

To Make Salsa

Pan fry the onion in a dash of oil until tender.

Add the tandoori paste and cook stirring for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Cool.

Mix together the cooked onion mixture, mince, breadcrumbs, yoghurt and coriander with a jolly good seasoning of salt and pepper.

Use wet hands to mould into 6-7 even-sized patties.

Cook over a moderate-high heat on a greased barbecue or in a frying pan for 7-10 minutes on each side until the burgers are cooked.

Cooking time will be dependent on how thick the burgers are.

Alternatively cook under a grill.

Serve the burgers on warm naan bread with lettuce, slices of mango or cucumber with a little chilli salsa and mango chutney if you wish.
