Ingredients

Beef Patties
  • 500g NZ grass-fed beef mince

  • 1 egg white

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp cracked pepper

  • 15g basil leaves

    finely chopped
  • 1/2 red onion

    finely chopped
  • 4 Brioche Gourmet Sesame Seed Burger Buns

To Serve
  • 1/2 red onion

    sliced
  • iceberg lettuce

  • tomatoes

  • Countdown gherkins sweet and spiced

Method

To Make Beef Patties
1

Combine beef mince, 1 egg, basil, red onion, salt & pepper into a mixing bowl and mix well for 3-4 minutes until ingredients have bound together nicely.

2

Wet your hands with a little bit of water then grab a handful of mince and work it into a ball using the palms of your hands. Once rolled into a large ball shape flatten into a patty. Burger mixture should create 8 patties.

3

Preheat fry pan or BBQ to a medium-to-high temperature and cook for 3-4 minutes per side. Once you have cooked the first side, flip the patty and add 1 slice of Dairy Works cheddar cheese slice to the top of the patty to melt.

To Assemble burgers
1

Add your patties to the Brioche Gourmet sesame seed burger bun, top with generous lashings of Culley’s Pickle Mustard and accessorise with your choice of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, gherkins, and red onions to serve. Top tip: soak your sliced red onion in a bowl of cold water to help soften the flavour.
