For the Burger

4 brioche burger buns

1 medium packet streaky bacon

4 Tbsp smokey BBQ sauce

4 hash browns

arrow

4 Portobello mushrooms

2 garlic cloves

minced or crushed

3 cups cos lettuces

salt and pepper

Method

For the Burger

Preheat oven to 180°c. Place mushrooms on a baking tray seasoned with garlic, salt & pepper. Roast for 20 minutes or until tender.

Split burger buns and lightly toast under the grill.

Cook Hash Browns according to instructions on the pack.

If Air Frying: cook on 180°C for 13-14 minutes, turning partway through. Heating times may vary depending on the number of patties and air fryer power.

If Pan Frying: If frying, cook on a medium heat for 13-15 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes.

If cooking in the Oven: Preheat to 200°C and cook on fan bake for 16-18 minutes, turning partway through.

If Microwaving: Microwave (1000w) each patty from frozen for approximately 1 minute 20 seconds per side. Rest for 1-2 minutes. (Microwave heating times may vary depending on number of patties heated and microwave power).

Place fry pan over a medium heat and cook the streaky bacon until crispy.

Assemble burger - layer a generous amount of BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, patty, hash brown, streaky bacon, mushroom and replace the top bun.
