Dinner ideas with beef cheeks
We adore the unctuous flavour and texture of slow cooked beef cheeks. They’re rich, decadent and an easy way to feed a crowd. This Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks recipe is easy to double in a slow cooker and we love that to help create a range of future easy dinners.
But what if you’re after something a little different to the standard beef cheeks on soft polenta? We’ve got you covered with some of our favourite serving suggestions below.
Cheats beef ravioli
We take the leftover beef cheek and stir through ricotta cheese, lemon zest, and fresh parsley. Take a wonton wrapper, place a teaspoon of the filling the middle. Dampen the edges with water and then seal. Repeat until the filling is all gone. Boil them for three minutes or until floating on the surface. Serve tossed with a little parmesan, fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil.
Chipotle Aioli Sliders
Take the pulled beef cheeks, toss some coleslaw with a little aioli and layer in some chipotle sauce for a kick. Pile it all between some toasted slider buns and voila! A pickle or two doesn’t go astray either, just saying.
Beef and Lentil Sausage Rolls
Mix together ½ can of brown lentils with 1 ½ cups of leftover beef cheek. Stir through spinach, grated carrot and a little diced onion. Take half a sheet of puff pastry and make a sausage-shaped line of the filling all the way along the pastry. Fold the pastry over the top, sealing well with a fork. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle sesame seeds and bake at 180 for 20 minutes.
Beef Cheek Burritos
Our friends at Delmaine have some great convenient products and we love their Mediterranean black bean and vegetable mix. Combine some of it with leftover beef cheek and then pile into a tortilla, along with brown rice, diced avocado and a little cheese. Firmly roll up and then lightly toast in a pan or sandwich press. Slice in half and serve with hot sauce on the side.
