Ingredients

  • 500g Quality Mark rump steaks

    thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

  • 4cm knob fresh ginger

    grated
  • 1 garlic clove

    finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 250g green beans

  • 2 corn cobs

    chopped into chunks
  • 3-4 spring onions

    sliced
To serve
  • sushi rice

    cooked
  • a handful cashew nuts

  • black sesame seeds

Method

To Stir-Fry Beef
1

To make the marinade, stir together the teriyaki sauce, ginger, garlic, brown sugar and sesame oil if using.

2

Toss the beef in the marinade, cover and stand for 10 minutes.

3

Drain well.

4

Heat a good dash of oil on a preheated barbecue hot plate.

5

When sizzling, add the beef and toss over a high heat until the meat is well browned but not overcooked. Set aside.

6

This is probably best done in 2-3 batches to ensure the meat browns well and does not stew.

7

Cut the corn into 2cm wide discs and place onto the hot plate with the beans and toss for 3-4 minutes until crisp tender and beginning to brown.

8

Add extra oil if required. Add the spring onions and return the beef and toss to mix.

To Serve
1

Serve with a few cashew nuts and sesame seeds to garnish if wished, and accompany with cooked rice.
