Tender chunks of beef are given a simple miso marinade for a truly delicious dinner. We love these with a big green salad and steamed rice on the side; or serve these are part of bigger spread for a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 600g Quality Mark rump steaks

  • 2 Tbsp miso paste

  • 2 Tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar

  • 1 tsp honey

  • sesame seeds

    to serve

Method

1

Soak your bamboo skewers for at least half an hour so they don't burn.

2

Cut your rump steak into slices, around 5mm thick.

3

Place the miso, soy, sesame oil and 2 tablespoons of the rice wine vinegar in a large bowl and mix to combine.

4

Keep half of the marinade aside in a small bowl and add the honey.

5

Add the beef to a larger bowl and toss with the remaining marinade.

6

Keep aside for 20 minutes to marinate.

7

Thread the beef onto the skewers, weaving each strip in and out. Continue until all the beef is threaded.

8

Heat a barbecue or grill plate on high.

9

Cook the skewers for 2-3 minutes each side until the marinade starts to caramelise.

10

Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and the honey miso dressing for dipping.
