Brisket and cheese pies
This is mince on cheese but seriously levelled up. Brisket is a cheap cut that needs long and slow cooking, so start these babies on Thursday for your Friday celebration.

Hearty lamb and rosemary pie
Quite frankly, we love this filling on its own as a hearty stew, but if you then put it in puff pastry packages, we’re in heaven! These guys freeze really well so cool, wrap in tinfoil and throw them in the freezer for an easy future meal.

Hearty beef pies with cauliflower mash
Mince, lentils and plenty of vegetables, these pies have it all! We love stretching mince out with lentils, it’s great for a protein boost as well as being more budget friendly.

Spiced Shepherds Pie
The family classic that everyone loves is given a spice injection. We love this Indian influenced pie with lamb mince but beef mince works as well.

Lamb spinach and feta pie
This is a labour of love and my goodness, those who eat it will know they’re adored! We use frozen spinach as it’s readily available, but fresh spinach or silverbeet work well too.

Family mince and vegetable pie
This is a family classic and we love to make it with plenty of vegetables tucked under the pastry lid. Beef stock is lovely, but honestly, we’ve used whatever we have on hand and it’s still delicious!

Tourtiere pie
From Quebec in Canada, this will make your chest hairs grow for sure. A labour of love as the water pastry can require time and patience but serve big slices with tasty chutney on the side and you’ve got a happy family.

Steak and kidney pie
You can buy kidney cheaply year round and we know it’s a nutrient dense food source. Here it’s with tender rump chunks, plenty of vegetables and in a thick gravy of red wine and beef stock.

Mexi mince cheesy mash pies
These take that foundation dish, Easy Mexi Mince, and transform it into the most adorable pies. Kids go nuts for these so make a double batch and watch them disappear!

The ultimate Kiwi pie
This is everything that Kiwi’s abroad miss about New Zealand pies. The best beef in the world, some tasty vegetables and a gravy that’s full of flavour.
