Welcome to the perfect blend of tender, flavourful meat and fresh, crunchy greens. With beautiful brioche buns and pickled gherkins, these meaty mouthfuls are fun, casual, yet sophisticated. This dining experience is ideal for gatherings or a relaxed family meal.
Ingredients
600g Quality Mark beef rump steak
1 Tbsp oil
2 Tbsp plain flour
1 onion
roughly chopped4 garlic cloves
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp mixed herbs
400ml beef stock
1 tsp salt
3 cups crispy salad
½ cup pickled gherkins
12 brioche slider buns
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tsp Dijon mustard
Method
Preheat the oven to 160C.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Dust the beef generously with seasoned flour.
Sear in the hot pan on all sides then place into an oven-proof casserole dish. Add the onion, garlic, paprika, herbs, stock and salt. Cover tightly and place into the oven for 2 hours or until the meat is tender. Turn once during cooking.
While the meat is hot shred with two forks.
Mix the mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl.
Toast the buns for 4-5 minutes. Place a generous amount of shredded meat on the base, and top with crispy fresh salad and a pickle. Smother the top of the bun with mustard mayonnaise.
Enjoy while warm and fresh.
