Marvelous meatballs: simple recipes for every meal
Oh, let us tell you, beef and lamb meatballs are just a lovely option for a simple, satisfying meal. Beef meatballs have that rich, familiar flavour that everyone loves, while lamb meatballs bring a bit of something special with their tender, slightly gamey taste. Both are so easy to prepare and can be served in so many ways – with pasta, in a stew, or even on their own with a side of vegetables. They're the sort of dish that brings everyone around the table, enjoying a hearty meal together. Perfect for family dinners or a cosy night in, really!
Sticky sesame lamb meatballs
Lamb is the perfect backdrop for these delicious Chinese flavours – hoisin sauce, sesame oil are all readily available at your supermarket too. Serve these with broccoli and steamed seasonal vegetables for a meal that kids and adults will love.
Baked breakfast eggs with meatballs
Our friends at Angel Bay make dinner time easy with their gourmet beef meatballs. We keep a bag in the freezer so dishes like this are easy to whip up in a flash. Like a cross between breakfast and Bolognese, it’s a protein rich dinner or breakfast for the whole family.
Spicy tomato meatballs
Not for the faint hearted, these bring heat. We love them served with crusty baguette for soaking up the sauce and plenty of fresh herbs on top. Pro tip: buy a quality beef bone broth, it makes all the difference in flavour and is nutritious for you.
Swedish meatballs
Ikea is famous for a few things and their meatballs are the top of the list. The creamy gravy is easy to make and we love these served on cauliflower rice to help increase the vegetables in this dish.
Lamb meatballs with hummus
Meatballs and dips are our love language, especially for hosting and this classic combo of lamb and hummus smells like a middle eastern restaurant but is quick and easy to whip up.
Quick Middle Eastern meatball wraps
Using Angel Bay meatballs again (they’re in the freezer section at your supermarket) we make a healthier version of the street food kebab. Pile everything in the middle of the table and get everyone building their own.
Madras meatballs with fresh yoghurt dip
These skewers bring all the flavours of India but in a quick and easy barbecue style recipe. Little hands make for the best helpers so get the kids in the kitchen, rolling meatballs or skewering things together.
Spaghetti and meatballs
On top of spaghetti all covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed… the cautionary tale aside we can’t talk about meatballs without mentioning this Italian classic combination.
