We’ve gathered our favourite vitamin C loaded side dishes, perfect for steak night or along side some barbecued lamb chops with the whole family.

Broccoli and cranberry salad
This is the ultimate family recipe. Kids love it, adults love that kids love it. It’s even perfect for meal prep for office lunches and is especially great with leftover sliced beef.

Kiwi winter salad
Loaded with vitamin C and fibre, this salad is beautiful with any Asian marinated beef or lamb. As a bonus, kiwifruit are affordable year round, so combine it with your beef or lamb for better iron absorption.

Kumara and mandarin rice salad
This is a delicious way to use up leftover rice and the vitamin C from the mandarin helps with absorbing your iron. Serve with lamb shoulder chops for a midweek dinner that punches well above its weight.
